Works on paper > Mindbugs

These abstract paintings suggest a vista of duality: imaginary or real? The works disrupt the experience of scale and space so as to create ambiguity: between large and small, microscopic or interstellar.

This work reveals my interest in scientific imagery, including the scanning electron microscope, photography from space, and naturally occurring patterns such as fractals. The imagery is referenced for its abstract qualities, and is compelling because it is not readily evident to the visible eye, yet is underlying all of nature and its beauty.
